Floating Landscapes (2003)----------------------Floating Landscapes was presented in Armazém K7, as part of the exhibition Linha de Água (Waterline) in the scope of the Portuguese Design Biennale - Experimenta Design. It consisted of a commission of a study proposal for a waterfront area, located in a coastal town near Lisbon. The solution consisted of several hexagon rubber floaters of approximately 6m wide, brought together in order to draw lines that connected different points of the coast. Each hexagon would have a number of small devices that captured solar energy during the daytime and spread it during the night, lighting up its top surface. At night the different sequences of elements would work out as light paths, signalizing the limits of the coast, while during daytime they would suggest new pedestrian paths. ----------------------Title: Paisagens Flutuantes
